Angst galore. A wonderful, at times heart rending, story of two fairly psychotic kids finding and loving each other during a war. Arc continues after the war, when Heero and, later, Duo become Preventors. Strongly recommended.

Duo was hardly making ends meet selling scrap, but when someone made him a deal he couldn't resist, he found it more than too good to be true, he found it against the law. When his one time war comrade, Heero Yuy, arrests him, he makes an offer Duo can't refuse. Takes place after the war. Complete.

A series of very long, satisfying stories. These start off fairly self, contained and show the relationships of the the Gundam pilots during the war. As the Arc progresses, so does the relationship between Heero and Duo and also their friendships with the other boys. Wonderful plot-lines. Strongly recommended, whether or not you have ever read or seen Gundam Wing. This is several novels worth. Angst warning but lots of heart warming moments as well.

The Road Trip Series by Sunhawk

This is a series of linked stories, starting with Road Trip. The quality of the stories ranges from very good to fabulous and most of the stories in the series bear repeated re-reading. My particular favorites are "Death Takes a Mission" and "Guidance". Most of the series takes place during the war and the last few show how Duo and Heero cope with the end of the war and life after it. Severe angst warning for some stories, but with enough warmth to off-set that. Very hurt/comfort.
