01840 | I have to tell you that Black Roses isn’t like anything else I’ve ever read. Don’t bring any preconceived notions with you on this ride, the vampires here are thousand layers deep, right along with their demon counterparts. It’s like they reworked the whole notion of these creatures and morphed them into something brand new. The relationship development in this story is beautiful and the way events unfold is truly brilliant. It’s somewhat dark and a little violent at times but don’t let that stop you from thoroughly enjoying this saga. The main couple are epic, but complicated. This is a work in progress and new chapters take months to post but the wait is NOTHING compared to the thrill of reading a new chapter. They never disappoint. |

01841 | This author rocks, her worlds are vivid and alive. My only complaint is that she seems to have stopped work on Dark Night. This story is about a vampire prince, who’s been forced into a royal marriage against his will as a substitution for his twin brother. He finds himself mated to a foreign prince who cares little about him or so it seems at first. Black Death is an abrasive alpha-male type figure who seeks power through war and bloodshed. Shadow is a strong-minded youth who thought he was on the warriors path and is supremely angry at having been stripped of his future power. As a submissive Shadow is now required to play that role and it’s something he’s having a lot of trouble doing. |

01842 | This has to be one of the best Supernatural fics I’ve ever read. Written by Midnight Firemist under the penname Kasten it’s set in an AU universe involving some of her original characters. So I guess it’s technically an original crossover, but give it a go. Sam and Dean ARE her main focus, and she doesn’t let her original characters get in the way of that. They are the supporting cast, but a group of characters you’ll quickly fall in love with, let me assure you. She takes a very original approach with this story, taking the boys on the devils road and right smack dab into the middle of Sin city. Sam goes evil, and Dean is trying to convince him to come back to the good guys. You get a unique look at the bad guys in this story and you’ll be surprised how quickly you start praying for Dean to go dark side, I’m not kidding. She’s that good at selling evil. |
