The Fishing Series by Kelli Matthews |
Series: |
Due South, Highlander |
Pairing: |
Fraser/RayV/Amanda, Fraser/RayK |
Submitted by: |

00097 | This series starts as Fraser/Ray Vecchio with a little Amanda thrown into the mix as a catalyst, but quickly turns to Fraser/Kowalski and by the third story any Highlander reference has vanished. It´s very well written, exploring the characters emotions throughoutly and has a lot of hot, steamy, squirm-in-your-seat sex scenes. |

00192 | This is probably my absolute DS favorite. I swear Denise was channeling these guys to get their characterizations so right. In this one Ray Vecchio is having problems in his marriage to Stella, so he goes to visit his best friend Fraser. From there it unfolds into a beautiful story that revolves around a marriage ritual that he distrupts involving Ray Kowalski. The beauty of this story is how it unfolds, so I'm not telling you any more would spoil it. |

The Course by Bone and Aristide |

00193 | This is a fabulous story by two wonderful writers. Bone is one of my favorite TS and DS writers. This story shines just as much as the others. In this one Ray is undercover as a teacher, Ben comes down from Canada to visit Ray and helps him with the case. Ray is angsty, Fraser is confident, as usual. And Good God! Slutty! The idea of a convincingly slutty Mountie is not easy to pull off, but they did. I love Fraser in this one. Like Ray, I wouldn't be able to resist him either. |

00203 | It is is an AU, one where things happen a little differently, but not alot. It is such a fabulous story, I haven't been able to recommend it highly enough to people. It is beautiful, sweet, loving, hot, sexy, and filled with just enough angst to make it interesting. It fast became one of my favorites. |

00244 | This story is told simultaneously in both Fraser's POV and RayK's. It's formatted in such a way that you have to either print it or read directly from the screen, but it is very worth the effort. |

00257 | Another rec for Speranza here, she's just so good you can't help it. This one is a post CotW story that fills in the missing space between the capture of Muldoon and how everyone ends up on those roads Fraser describes them traveling in the epilogue. A wonderful & beautiful piece. |

The Easiest Choice by C.L. Finn |

00258 | This is definitely one of my top 5 favorite DS fics. It takes place about 10 years in the future, way after CotW. Fraser and Ray have been together for quite a while and have settled into 'old married couplehood'. This one is sweet and romantic, without being sappy. I love this one. |

00259 | This is another of my faves. In it Stella drops by Ray's apartment to get some papers from him and finds out alot about her ex. The best line is RayK saying "Just because my boyfriend is so much cuter than yours that's no reason for rudeness..." If that doesn't get you nothing will. |

00260 | This story is set in a future where Ray and Ben were both deceived by someone who thought she held one of their best intrests at heart. This story takes place as the realize the deception and try to repair their relationship in the wake of this new knowledge. Rounding out my top 5 here. |

Ghosts of Lovers Past (Alchemy Series) by Caroline Alert |
Series: |
due South |
Pairing: |
Fraser/Kowalski |
Submitted by: |

00347 | Alchemy was transmuting baser metals into gold and finding an elixir of life. It required great sacrifices, but promised immense rewards to those who did not give up. Rather like the process of finding love in the real world....The process for Ray and Benton is long and arduous. These series is extremely long, but is completely enjoyable. |

00406 | Fraser gets a telephone call from RayK very much like the one he got from Vecchio in Burning Down the House.
This got one of the most unusual endings in dS fic I've ever seen. |

00785 | ::::
Okay, here we go: This guy walks into a bar...
Ray Kowalski walked into a bar. It was just a bar, pretty nondescript - From the top: This guy walks into a gay bar ...
Once more, with feeling. Ray Kowalski walks into a gay bar for the first time in many moons, with the intent of getting laid.
::::
Why was I driven, cackling gleefuly, to rec this particular fic among the piles of really pretty good DS fic I've been wallowng in? One word: voice.
This is a really fine example of something all too rare among writers - real storytelling. Not *narrative* - this is not a slam to those prefer a more distant style - but story*tell*ing. |

00824 | This is one of the best Fraser/Kowalski stories I ever read.
What if Ray finds out about Fraser's feelings, but doesn't jump for joy at first? What if he's shocked and confused instead?
Well, you get a great story. ;) Very long and very gripping one. Oh and don't let the Ray/other keep you from reading it - this story is far too good and that scene far to short, to miss the story because of it. Enjoy! |

00930 | Set about 2 years after COTW and Fraser has gone back to Canada -- without Ray. Ray is still in Chicago working as a cop. They keep in touch, but have sort of drifted apart as friends do who are separated.
Ray gets a chance to go to Canada (taking a prisoner there) and goes to see Fraser and wouldn't you know they immediately get involved in a case together. Plus, they soon realize that they have a lot of unfinished business between them -- like long denied feelings, but will fate and their jobs keep them apart again?

01249 | "Kick 'em In The Head: A Guide To Parenting."
Ray Vecchio and Stella Kowalski went to Canada for honeymoon and found Fraser and Ray Kowalski living together -- with SIX children!
Funny and heart-warming, one of the greatest Kids!fics I've read, in which the children are NOT so disgustingly cute that they look fake, but disgustingly cute and are REAL kids.
If you don't like kids (I don't like kids, BTW), I guarantee you will fall in love with Fraser and Ray's kids by the time you finish reading. If you like kids, well, what's there to say? Not reading this fic will be the regret of your life. |

01599 | Due South Crossover with The Sentinel
Blair and Jim hop on a plane to Canada after receiving letters from a certain Mountie. Like always, things do not go as planned.
Excellent characterization of Ray Kowalski and Ben Fraser. The story reads more general but the interactions between the characters can be seen as slashy. |

01664 | Summary: "Ray spent a decade watching Fraser jump; he never prepared himself for what it would mean to watch Fraser fall."
This story takes what it almost a cliché - Fraser gets hurt while pursuing a suspect - and transforms it into something real. It never gets too sentimental, but stays very true to both characters. And while I can understand Fraser here, I love RayK here, strong and brave and scared and so very himself.
I found this story through the Lj community DS Recs Redux, which has so many great recs for any DS junkie I figured I would just recommend it directly. All pairings. |
