01644 | Daniel Jackson is a man on the run from the Air Force and one Colonel in particular. He finds an unexpected haven in Cascade, Washington.
I do not usually like crossovers or threesomes, but this one is hot. The story is well written and believable, and Kikkimax keeps everyone in-character (well, except for Jack, but Jack is kind of a secondary character in this story so I could overlook it).
I wish there was a sequel, so I could find out what happens next!

01646 | Feeling sure that he can never be with Daniel, Jack tries to convince himself that he belongs with Sam, and takes a new position at the SGC to give that relationship a try. Daniel disappears off-world, trying to run away from his broken heart. Soon Jack realizes that Sam is not who he wants and a desperate search for Daniel ensues.
Being a slash fan, I was not interested in the Sam-Jack relationship. The story really took off for me once Jack came to his senses and began the search for Daniel. This story is sweet and angsty and happily-ever-after with a planet paradise and cute, furry alien creatures thrown in for good measure.
Recommendation Update: I recently reread this fic, and did not love it as much as I did the first time. The characters reactions are kind of extreme and not in-character (which, as you probably already know from my other recs, is a huge thing for me). |

01648 | Atlantis has been raided and her people are trapped on a primitive world where technology is forbidden and they are forced to work as slaves.
Although there are some pretty graphic flashbacks, this story is more about their recovery then about their actual time enslaved. McKay is a wreck - both physically and emotionally. John feels responsible and his guilt has turned him into a scary stranger interested only in his crusade for revenge/justice. Carson is just trying to keep everyone on a path to recovery. |

This is absolutely the best Ronon fic I have found. I applaud SylvanWitch for doing what no other fanfiction author has been able to do ... she keeps Ronon completely in-character! And the romance is hot and believable as well. Good job!

An interesting look at what happened after the series ended. What if Earth had been invaded and taken over by aliens. However, this is not an aliens-made-me-do-it story. Surprising and angsty.
(Unfortunately, Xanthe ran out of inspiration and never completed the story!) |

I love almost anything Josan writes. She only does Skinner/Krycek pairings, and I love her portrayal of Krycek as a lost-soul. This particular tale discribes what life would be like for Alex and Walter to raise a child together. |

01659 | So far this is a 2-part series. In the first story, Partners, our heroes are affected by a virus which causes changes in sexual behaviour. In the second story, Partnership, Tony finds himself trying to cope with the strange things happening to his body, and the on-going challenge that is Gibbs.
This is an aliens-made-me-do-it (or in this case a virus-made-me-do-it) story. Neither character is gay, bisexual or in denial before the virus hits so there is some nice angst related to the man-on-man thing.
I love the virus-made-me-do-it premise, which I think is handled very well. I always find MPREGs irresistable (although we havent really gotten into that too far in the story), and I cant wait to see how the guys handle the MPREG thing! |

The author just sorta jumps into the bet-fulfillment part of the story. There is no build-up of the characters or the relationship, or even a description of the bet that led to the current situation. But even though you are just thrown into the middle, you soon forget to worry about how they got into this situation!!!
This story is hot, hot, HOT. And romantic ... Enjoy. |

01694 | This series of stories inspired me to buy a PlayStation and get into gaming, because I wanted to find out what the *real* characters were like. We learn in the game that Seifer and Squall were close friends in their forgotten childhood, and that subconsciously that close friendship is manifesting itself in their current adversarial relationship.
In the Life Series, Sukunami takes their lifelong friendship and turns it into a believable love relationship. She keeps Seifer and Squall beautifully in-character ... even with the added MPREG element! Isan, their son, is a wonderful OC character that I LOVED getting to know.
Go. Enjoy. I could not put these stories down. Sukunami is an excellent writer and her stories are always a good bet. Maybe you will be inspired to dust off that old Playstation and reintroduce yourself to Final Fantasy VIII!.

Komos* Jack is smart and her Daniel is strong and everything about both of them here rings completely true. Komos also has a gift for writing really hot sex scenes that have everything to do with the plot. Seriously, go read this.

01888 | Alex finally gives in to his obsession with Mulder. Completely unprepared for Alex*s advances, Mulder is blindsided and finds himself participating in a hot one-night stand with Alex. Thus begins a wonderfully angsty and meaningful relationship that spans years and many obstacles.
This is a great story. Everybody is in-character. Mulder has no illusions about the things Krycek has done. His struggle with himself is believable. I particularly love Louise*s Krycek ... he doesn*t suddenly transform into a good person, so much as he consciously sculps his behavior to be the kind of man Mulder can accept. Scully and Skinner also behave in a (mostly) believable manner when they discover the relationship.
I couldnt put this story down. Enjoy....

01945 | I just found this story arc again! How could I have forgotten it????
Wow, great story-telling. Overall the characterization is exceptionally well done, however Seifer*s personality is AMAZINGLY well-written.
The story takes place 4 years after the end of the game. In the aftermath of the Sorceress*s War, Seifer is understandably unpopular with the masses. There is a warrant out for his arrest, but since most people only knew him as the Sorceress*s Knight and not by his real name, he has been able to quietly rebuild his life working as an EMT in Galbadia.
Squall ... the savior of the world ... is not fairing as well. As the Commander of Balamb Garden and son to the President of Esthar (as well as getting all the credit for saving the planet from the sorceress), Squall seems to have everything he could ever want. But the responsibility and high expectations are too much for him to handle. He is spinning farther and farther out of control and deeper and deeper into depression. He ends up deliberately crashing his car in a drunken haze. EMTs are the first ones to the scene of the accident. Thus our two antagonists are reunited ... and our story begins.
There are three main stories in the arc: Hero, Happily Ever After and Once A Knight. In these stories, both characters are struggling with the after-effects from the Sorceress*s War. In a very real way, these once-enemies are the only ones who can truly understand what the other is going through, and they end up saving each other.
This is a story about angst, life-long friendship and committment.
I highly recommend it. |

02169 | This is the best NCIS fic I have read in a long time. It is a 3-part saga that moves from pre-slash in Part 1 and most of Part 2 into a full relationship in Part 3. The author does a good job of keeping everyone in-character and the growing relationship between Gibbs and Tony is believable. I also really liked the author*s original characters ... we don*t get to know them very well, but they are likeable and fit nicely into the story.
The only thing that bugged me was the portrayal of Tony*s father. For one thing, the relationship does not follow NCIS cannon. But more importantly, I dislike it when characters from the series are over-villainized. In the series, Senior*s relationship with Tony is strained and he would certainly never win father-of-the-year, but he is not a bad person and there is no question that he has a deep love for his son.
Other than that, I give it 2 thumbs up.
Go, read, enjoy!

02181 | Authors Description: Gibbs gets a hero*s reward, whether he wants it or not.
My Description: This is an AU story in a universe where a percentage of the population is born with the ability to shape-shift into feline form (tigers, lions, etc.). These Felines are rare and highly prized, often thought of (and used as) sex-slaves. They have no rights and are given as gifts by the government to deserving individuals. Tony is gifted by President Hayes to a reluctant Gibbs who is appalled to become a slave owner.
Comments: I don*t generally like AU stories, but there is something about this one that is compelling. (Really, the only AU aspect of this story is that Felines exist, and of course Tony*s role as a Feline is also AU.) It is well-written. Kudos to Kath, who manages to keep everybody in-character ... even a feline Tony (who doesn*t take human form until well into the story)! Gibbs is gruff and protective. Tony is his usual surprising mix of insecure confidence; irritating, smart, loyal, brave, devoted and likable. McGee is totally McGee and Cait is a slightly more abrasive version of the Cait we know on the show. Over-villainization of characters always bugs me, and Director Shepard is over-villainized, but I guess there has to be a bad-guy and Jenny Shepard has never been my favorite character anyway ...
The trust and devotion that developes between Gibbs and Tony is believable and romantic. Enjoy!

Comments: I*m not into threesomes, because the stories are always completely unbelievable and out-of-character porn with no plot. I*m not into McGee slash. I also don*t like stories with email-based or internet-based plot lines. That being said ... you have GOT to read this story!
Gibbs and Tony are in a relationship that is beginning to fall apart. Tony creates a character in McGee*s online game and befriends McGee through the game. What starts out as a joke on McGee, turns into real interest on Tony*s part and he sets up a *date* to meet up with McGee in real life and confess. Gibbs being Gibbs is not completely clueless. He realizes that something is going on with Tony that has to do with the computer game Tony is always playing and follows Tony, catching him red-handed in the bar where Tony is obviously meeting a date, and confronting him before McGee shows up. The confrontation between Tony and Gibbs that follows is both heart breaking and romantic. Gibbs decides to reclaim and save his relationship with Tony.
The rest is hot, Hot, HOT!!! And believable. And romantic. OMG, go read it!

[With the first winter quickly closing in on Dale, Bard and Thranduil have very different ideas on what it means to be a leader.]
I love this piece because I can see their relationship growing exactly like this. The story takes place directly after the final Hobbit movie (The Battle of the Five Armies). Bard is new to being a king, but Thranduil has ruled for thousands of years. They have vastly different backgrounds and different views on what is important in a leader.
Rated G. This is a friendship story ... or is it pre-slash? The author promises to continue the arc, and says she sees the possibility of romance blooming in future installments. Let*s all keep our fingers crossed!
